SUSTAINABILITY

Making clothing doesn't need to cause harm.

Sadly so much of the mainstream fashion industry does cause extensive harm to people, animals and the earth. Buying from ethical and sustainable companies means you are supporting a growing industry that chooses to never put profit ahead of integrity. We all share this magnificent planet, so let's treat it with kindness and respect. Join us.

WE USE RECYCLED TEXTILES

Everything is made by hand, slowly, in small batches, using only recycled and vintage materials, creating one-of-a-kind garments and home goods. We also remake existing garments, rewilding them back into the fashion ecosystem.

By exclusively using recycled fabrics we not only divert usable textile waste from landfills, but create unique garments, impossible to duplicate.

FREE REPAIRS FOR LIFE

In our efforts to minimize waste and maximize the life of our products we created the (RE)PAIR PROGRAM.

Every HOUSE OF WILDWOOD creation comes with a promise of free repairs; no matter when or where you got it. If one of our products fails at any time due to defects in materials or workmanship, you can send it back to us and we'll fix it and send it back to you. We want our everything we make to live its best, longest life.

(RE)PAIR PROGRAM

WE USE BOTANICAL DYES

We do small batches of hand dyed textiles using plants and minerals. Zero chemicals or plastics are used, instead we employ wooden spoons, recycled elastic bands, an aluminum pot instead of powdered alum and homemade soya milk as a mordant.

Due to the ephemeral nature of botanical dyes the colours will change and fade over time. We want our pieces to be enjoyed forever, so we offer a refresh program inspired by the natural world which reminds us to find joy in reinvention.

(RE)DYE PROGRAM
  • SUPPORTING NATURAL

Aside from exclusively using recycled textiles, we also want to reduce the amount of microplastics that leech into our water when synthetic fabrics are washed, so we focus on using natural fibres like cotton, linen and wool.

  • HOW WE KEEP WATER CLEAN

We hand-dye recycled textiles using leftover silkscreen cleaning solution in an effort to maintain our zero waste goals. Closed loop systems help contain chemicals and keep them out of our water; in this case they also create cool, totally unique designs...

  • COMPOSTABLE PACKAGING

To reduce the great waste associated with conventional packaging, we use compostable shipping materials, hang-tags and labels, all printed with non-toxic inks, which can be returned to the earth via your home compost.
