The Manifesto is a statement of our views and motives, as well as the intentions HOUSE OF WILDWOOD™ was built on. It is part tongue in cheek, and part earnest declaration. Born from a desire to say something meaningful in a playful way while offering practical wisdom we believe helps make the world a better place.
A plague is upon us. That plague has a name, and its name is Capitalist Greed. All the powers of old would have us silently comply and ceaselessly consume. This blind subservience to tradition is nothing but guilt from those long dead. If we continue on this path of lunacy we shall destroy all we hold dear. If we persist we will lay waste to the verdant and fecund earth we call home. If we do not avert our course we will soon reach the edge of the great chasm.
It doesn’t have to be this way. There are other ways to live. To move forward. To exist. Each and every one of us has a choice. We make millions of choices every day. And everyday, we have a million opportunities to choose better. If we choose to embrace progress we can radically change our futures. What can this look like you may ask? Henceforth let it be known...
Be the voice for every creature we share this planet with. Rise up in support of one another. Let us all connect globally to end capitalist excess. Embrace pragmatism. Rebuild and transform what exists into something new and exciting. Waste can be a resource. Think sustainably. Limit your consumption. Buy smart. Support ethical companies and organizations. Say no to single use. Buy things that last, that you can fix, and enjoy forever. Rethink what you have, and be willing to find creative new answers. Let us all respect the earth and treat it with kindness. Pet a dog. Smell a flower. Grow a garden. Hug a tree. We believe we can change the world.
